UKTI Defence & Security Organisation replaces DESO

The UK's Defence Export Services Organisation (DESO) was officially replaced by a new agency on 1 April 2008, the UKTI Defence & Security Organisation (UKTI DSO). The new agency is part of UK Trade & Investment (UKTI) and will promote and support British defence exports abroad. Export licences will be issued by the UK Ministry of Defence (MoD), a function previously held by DESO.
